Main road in Sen Monorom on a dusty March day

Researched from published sources

In short

If you are flexible, comfortable messaging several providers and happy to adjust on the spot, you can book everything directly; the providers publish their contacts and prices. Ask us if your time is short, you want the days, transport and providers lined up in the right order in advance, or you want one written proposal with all the terms in one place.

Everything on this site can be booked independently. The elephant sanctuary, the gibbon project, Chi Phat and the tented camp all take direct bookings, and transport can be arranged locally. So why would anyone ask for help?

What doing it yourself involves

  • Choosing providers and checking that their practices suit you (especially for elephants).
  • Lining up dates: the sanctuary runs on set days, the gibbon project one tour a day, and low-season rules apply.
  • Arranging transport that arrives the evening before each early start.
  • Paying several providers separately, often in advance, each with its own cancellation terms.
  • Handling changes yourself if a road, the weather or a provider moves things around.

For flexible travelers with time, that is part of the fun.

What we add

  • A route that fits your days, with realistic road times and buffers.
  • Providers chosen against clear standards, with their current days, prices and terms checked for your dates.
  • One written proposal: total price, inclusions, who delivers each part, what is confirmed, payment and cancellation terms, all before you pay anything.
  • One contact for questions before your trip.

When to do it yourself

If you are travelling slowly, can wait a day in Sen Monorom for the right slot, and enjoy arranging things on the ground, book directly. Our planning guides are written so you can.

When to ask us

If your time is short, you are coordinating a family or a group, you want transport and providers sequenced before you land, or you simply want the whole plan and its terms in writing, tell us about your trip.

Questions travelers ask

Is it cheaper to book directly?

It depends on the trip and how much coordination you would otherwise do yourself. Our proposal shows one total price before you decide anything, so you can compare it with booking each part separately.

Can you just give me advice and let me book myself?

Yes. Tell us what you are planning and we will tell you honestly whether it works and what to watch out for.
