Routes that respect the distances
Four researched planning examples, from a tight four days in Mondulkiri to two weeks across the country. Each shows the road days honestly and leaves room for weather.

Illustrative itinerary: researched, not a trip we have run
These are planning examples built from published provider information and measured road distances. They are not fixed packages, and we have not operated them as trips. Every proposal is adapted to your dates and reconfirmed with each provider.
- 4 days
Mondulkiri in 4 days: elephants and gibbons from Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh · Sen Monorom · Keo Seima (Jahoo)
Four days is the shortest Mondulkiri trip that works: drive up on day 1, track gibbons in Keo Seima on day 2, walk with elephants on day 3, and drive back on day 4. It needs the right weekday for the sanctuary, transport that arrives the evening before each early start, and no slack for a missed connection.
- 8 days
Eastern Cambodia in 8 days: Mekong dolphins, gibbons and elephants
Phnom Penh · Kratie · Sen Monorom · Keo Seima (Jahoo)
Eight days lets you do eastern Cambodia at a humane pace: Phnom Penh, a night on the Mekong at Kratie with the dolphins, three nights in Sen Monorom for gibbons, elephants and a free day, and a direct drive back. No single road day is longer than about six and a half hours.

The Cardamoms in 4 days: Chi Phat to Kampot
Phnom Penh · Andoung Teuk · Chi Phat · Kampot
Travel from Phnom Penh to Andoung Teuk and take the community boat upriver to Chi Phat on day 1, spend two days trekking, cycling or kayaking with village guides, then continue to Kampot on day 4. It is a modest-cost, simple-comfort route; Cardamom Tented Camp is the comfortable alternative.
- 14 days
Cambodia beyond Angkor in 14 days
Siem Reap · Phnom Penh · Kratie · Sen Monorom · Keo Seima (Jahoo) · Chi Phat
Two weeks is enough for Angkor and two nature chapters: three nights in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, a night with the Mekong dolphins at Kratie, four nights in Mondulkiri for gibbons and elephants, and two nights at Chi Phat in the Cardamoms. Expect four long road days; they are spread out so none comes twice in a row.
