Compare, then choose
Most trips to Cambodia’s wild places come down to a few real choices. Each comparison puts the facts side by side and ends with a clear view.

MondulkiriorRatanakiri
For most first-time visitors, Mondulkiri: it is closer to Phnom Penh (about 359 km against 493 km) and has the best-organised wildlife days, with an observation-only elephant sanctuary and dawn gibbon treks. Choose Ratanakiri for the Yeak Laom crater lake, waterfalls, a more remote feel and as a gateway to Virachey, if you have time.
MondulkiriorThe Cardamoms
Choose Mondulkiri for the strongest wildlife days (an observation-only elephant sanctuary and wild gibbons) and cooler hills, if you can spare four or five days. Choose the Cardamoms if you want rainforest closer to Phnom Penh that pairs with Kampot or the coast, with a village stay at Chi Phat or a comfortable tented lodge.
Elephant sanctuaryorGibbon trek
If you can, do both on consecutive days. If you must choose: pick the elephant sanctuary for a gentler, more certain encounter that suits younger children (from US$60 for a half day), and the Jahoo gibbon trek for a pre-dawn search for wild apes in deep forest, for fit travelers aged 10 and over (US$185).
Plan it yourselforPlan with us
If you are flexible, comfortable messaging several providers and happy to adjust on the spot, you can book everything directly; the providers publish their contacts and prices. Ask us if your time is short, you want the days, transport and providers lined up in the right order in advance, or you want one written proposal with all the terms in one place.
Share your dates, what you hope to see and how you like to travel. We reply with a first view of the route and, when you are ready, a written proposal with the price, what it includes and who provides each part of the trip.
