Angkor in two or three days with a licensed guide

Angkor in two or three days with a licensed guide and private car: a sensible temple order, Angkor pass prices, and what we confirm for your dates.

Stone faces of the Bayon, Angkor

On request: we confirm a local operator and price for your dates

In short

Two or three days with a licensed guide and a private car is the best way to see Angkor without rushing: Angkor Wat, the Bayon and Ta Prohm on the first day, outlying temples such as Banteay Srei on the next. Angkor passes cost US$37 (1 day), US$62 (3 days) or US$72 (7 days), sold only by the official seller. Guide and car are quoted for your dates.

Price and booking

PriceGuide and car quoted for your dates; Angkor pass US$37 to 72 extraPass prices as reported by several 2026 guides; buy only from Angkor Enterprise (official). Children under 12 enter free, according to the same guides.
How it is arranged

A sensible two-day plan

Day one: an early start at Angkor Wat, then the Bayon and its stone faces inside Angkor Thom, the Terrace of the Elephants, and Ta Prohm, where trees grow through the ruins. Break in the middle of the day, when the heat is strongest, and return for a late-afternoon temple or viewpoint.

Day two: the smaller, finely carved Banteay Srei further out, combined with temples on the way back such as Preah Khan or the eastern group. A third day suits slower travelers or anyone who wants a dedicated sunrise and quieter temples.

The exact order depends on your dates, the light and where the crowds are that week, which is what a good local guide adjusts for.

Why on request

There are many licensed guides in Siem Reap, and quality varies. For each enquiry we confirm a licensed guide who speaks your language, a private vehicle and a clear total price, and put their names in your proposal. Angkor passes are bought in your name from the official seller.

Practical notes

Siem Reap’s airport is about 45 km from town, so allow for the transfer when planning your first and last temple days. Dress with shoulders and knees covered. Continue to Phnom Penh or see how many days you need in Cambodia.

What to bring

  • Clothes covering shoulders and knees (required at temples)
  • Sun hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes for steep steps
  • Your passport details for the pass if buying online

What we confirm before you book

  • A licensed guide in your language and the private vehicle for your dates
  • The total price for guide and car, and what happens if plans change
  • Current pass prices and validity on the official Angkor Enterprise site
  • Current temple opening hours (they have changed since 2024)

Questions travelers ask

How many days do I need at Angkor?

Two full days covers the major temples at a comfortable pace; three lets you add outlying temples and a slower sunrise or sunset. One day is possible but rushed.

Where do I buy the Angkor pass?

Only from Angkor Enterprise, the official seller: online on its website or app, or at the ticket office in Siem Reap. Passes bought elsewhere may not be valid. Validity windows for multi-day passes vary between sources, so check the official site.

Is it worth hiring a guide?

For most first-time visitors, yes. A licensed guide explains what you are looking at, times the route around crowds and heat, and handles the logistics with the driver.
